Rupp Marine Single Handle Outrigger Base The Only Gear-Driven In/Out & Up/Down Outrigger Base on the Market

The Rupp Marine Single Handle Outrigger Base delivers effortless outrigger deployment in any sea condition through a proven 30:1 gear drive system — and stands alone as the only outrigger base on the market with gear drive in both directions: in/out and up/down. An integrated toggle switches seamlessly between both operations without the need to flip a handle for locking — simplifying outrigger management and eliminating unnecessary steps during active fishing.

The base rotates a full 360 degrees for maximum fishing position flexibility, and its heavy-duty stainless steel construction paired with a standard 3x5 bolt pattern makes it a direct replacement for most existing outrigger bases. Multiple handle configurations and two shaft lengths are available — contact us for details.

Designed for 1.5" outrigger poles. Sold in pairs.

Aluminum vs carbon fiber, which should I choose?

Both are great options. Aluminum is the workhorse. Strong, takes a beating, the standard choice. Carbon fiber is the upgrade if you want lighter weight and stiffer performance. Both last decades if you take care of them. Both are built to the same standard.

What rigging do you recommend for my new outriggers?

Rigging is largely a matter of personal preference and fishing style. Rupp offers a complete selection of rigging kits and accessories to accommodate a variety of rigging configurations.

If you have a Top Gun outrigger system, we recommend one of our Top Gun Rigging Kits, which are specifically designed for top-mount outriggers.

For larger fixed or hydraulic outrigger systems, our HD Rigging Kits provide the strength and components needed for larger poles. If you're unsure which kit is right for your boat, our team is happy to help you select the best option.

Can I upgrade to hydraulic deployment later?

Yes. All Rupp side-mount outrigger systems are designed to be compatible with our GEN2 Hydraulic System, allowing you to upgrade now or at a later date.

When you're ready, simply give us a call with your outrigger serial number, and our team will confirm compatibility, recommend the components you'll need, and guide you through the upgrade process.

How long does installation take, and what is the cost?

Installation time and cost depend on the type of outrigger system and the boat. Top Gun installations are typically around 2–4 hours, with installers usually charging around $800.

Large outrigger installs can usually be done in an 8 hour day, with costs ranging from $1,500–$3,500. Hydraulic outrigger system installations vary significantly depending on the vessel and system configuration, so pricing is quoted on a case-by-case basis.

Detailed instructions are included with all of our systems and our team is available by phone to offer support if you want to give it a go.
